Samsung Phone Sketchpad Calculator version0.0.3 DownloadWork with numbers vertically like you would with pencil and paper.
I caught myself doing math on scratch paper, then using an app to calculate the answer. It struck me, "What am I using pencil and paper for when I have a pocket super computer?"
Something was lacking in the standard calculator interface, or I would not have needed pencil and paper. Sketchpad Calculator is an attempt to fix this problem. It is similar to most calculators, but arranges the problems vertically and displays a constantly visible history.
The killer feature is the ability to touch any number on the screen to insert it into the current calculation. With traditional calculators, I was frequently re-entering numbers that I had just entered or calculated. Typing the same numbers over and over is not only a waste of time, but an unnecessary source of errors.
There is no "Clear", "Clear All", or "CE" (whatever that is) button needed to remove previous operations. With Sketchpad Calculator, what you see is what will be calculated. There is no mystery math. But what if you need to erase a calculation? You don't. Just move on and enter the next one.
There are no memory buttons needed either. All the memory you require and more is on the screen as part of the scrolling calculation history.
The $ button is something new, but they way it works is simple. If any term in a calculation contains a dollar sign, then its result will be rounded to the nearest penny.
Speaking of rounding, if any term in a calculation uses scientific notation, then the result will be rounded to the proper precision: the number of significant figures in the least precise term.
The % button can be used to add a percent sign to the left or right of any non-currency number as a shortcut for "divided by 100." (÷ 100)
ChaosScape part of our Tools and have average installs from 100 to 500. Last Update Sept. 23, 2015. Google play rating is 100.0. Current verison is 0.0.3. Actual size 154.0 KB.
Made calculations stack horizontally on tablet-sized devices.
Removed loading graphics to reduce the installable file to about 7% of its previous size. I despise bloat.
Any non-monetary calculation with an exponential (scientific) notation term will force the result to exponential notation. Don't science unless you mean it.
